The first bollywood movie to hit the screens this 2015 is "Tevar" starring Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Raj Babbar and Manoj Bajpyee in the lead. The movie has been directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor.
STORY:
"Tevar" is a remake of the telugu movie Okkadu which came a decade ago in 2003.The story is about Pintu (Arjun Kapoor) a Kabbadi player who does nothing much - other than play kabbadi. On the other hand Vijendar Singh (Manoj Bajpyee) is a corrupt politician who falls in love with Radhika (Sonakshi Sinha).Vijender is ready to do anything to get married with her.But she seeks the shelter of Pintu who not only helps her hide from Vijender but also helps her to get her visa to go abroad . Pintu and Radhika fall in love with each other.Tevar is thus the journey of how Pintu saves Radhika from Vijender.
There have been major changes in the story which were not necessary. The original was better.
REVIEW:
The story of the movie is good but not better than the original. You get bored at times and the movie could have ended earlier. Manoj Bajpyee and Raj Babbar have acted exceptionally well. Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi have done a decent job. The dialogues are not that great. When a movie is being remade there is always scope for improving the minute flaws which may have been present in the original film. But in this case it could have been way better. If you have not seen the actual film(Okkadu) then you may not find the flaws in this movie. The direction is good but nothing special.
The songs may not be stay on your playlist but you can hear them a few times."Superman" and "Joganiya" are a few good ones.
DRAWBACKS:
The story moves a bit slow and you might get bored of it at times. The story and direction could have been way better considering it a remake.
"If you have nothing to do this weekend go watch Tevar - it is worth a watch"
